I am happy to be one of 80 women artists in contemporary jewelry from around the world taking part in the exhibition I PAINT FLOWERS SO THEY WILL NOT DIE - a homage to the legacy of FRIDA KAHLO at Galleria Carlo Lucidi in Rome, Italy, during 2024.11.8 – 2025.3.8.

My artist statement for my three “Frida Kahlo Jewelry” refer to Frida’s hard life and love for flowers.

FRIDA'S LIFE, brooch & necklace; a hard life as to live on a grater, joyful waiting for giving birth to a new life, which tragically ends in blood and death. SUBSTITUTE, necklace; strength and courage by color and flowers. BLOOD AND TEARS, necklace; blood and pain by a serious accident, amputation, heartache and disappointment – even the flower became black.
